The export declaration is proof that the vehicle has been officially registered for export in the registration register. The previous owner is then no longer liable for the vehicle-related obligations.
By obtaining the export declaration, the validity of the registration certificate expires and you may no longer use the public road with your vehicle, unless you request a green card export registration
The Dutch registered license plates are taken and invalidated at the time of exportation. If you wish to drive the vehicle on public roads, you need temporary license plates.
The existing license plate is placed on a white plate with indelible black letters / numbers. The plate must be resistant to weather conditions, so that the license plate remains legible
When you wish to drive on public roads with an export vehicle. the vehicle must be insured and in possession of a valid MOT. The green card is a temporary insurance that is internationally valid for 14 days from the time of issue
If you export a passenger car abroad and request a registration number there, you may be asked for a Type Approval Data Statement. This statement contains the technical information required to register the car.
The statement can be requested in the languages: Dutch, English, French and German.
